About the Hackathon

MIT Policy Hackathon: Data to Decisions is a new hackathon convened by MIT’s Institute for Data, Systems, and Society and MIT’s Technology and Policy Program that aims to address some of today’s most relevant societal challenges while fostering an interdisciplinary spirit. This hackathon is a place for us to gather participants who will be able to work together in teams to propose creative policy solutions using a combination of robust data analytics and domain knowledge. As such, we’re looking for people from a wide range of backgrounds – from public policy to data science to engineering and more.

Each year, we give participants interdisciplinary challenges on issues like climate change, energy, AI and the future of work, health, and cybersecurity. These challenges are based around real data from our partners in government, academia, and industry!

Check out our FAQ page for more information on this year’s challenges.
